Greg Hart
Greg’s favorite Bose product, in addition to the QuietComfort headphones he uses devotedly when traveling, are the new Ultra Open Earbuds. He loves that he can listen to his music with the quality it deserves while still hearing the world around him, and because they’re so comfortable, they’re now his go-to earbuds every day.
Greg Hart joined the Bose Board of Directors in December 2024. With over two decades of experience working at Amazon, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge in consumer technology and products.
Since February 2025, Greg has served as President and CEO of Coursera, one of the largest online learning platforms in the world. Coursera partners with over 350 leading universities and industry leaders to offer a broad catalog of content and credentials, including courses, Specializations, Professional Certificates, and degrees. Institutions worldwide rely on Coursera to upskill and reskill their employees, citizens, and students in high-demand fields such as GenAI, data science, technology, and business.
From 2020 through the end of 2023, Greg worked at Compass, the largest residential real estate brokerage in the US. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, he helped the company reduce operating expenses and deliver positive free cash flow despite a significant residential real estate market decline.
Prior to working at Compass, Greg spent 23 years at Amazon, holding leadership positions that revolved around founding, building, and improving the business model, and scaling various businesses domestically and internationally. In 2009, he was asked to serve as Technical Advisor to Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, and in 2011 went on to build and lead the Amazon Alexa/Echo organization from the ground up, spanning P&L ownership, product development, user experience, engineering, speech science, and NLU/AI teams, including overseeing the acquisition and integration of three companies. Alexa launched in late 2014 as one of the very first AI-based consumer products, and since then it has been distributed on more than 100 million devices worldwide. Greg went on to lead Amazon’s Prime Video global business, including Amazon’s entry into live sports streaming and overseeing the implementation of live streaming video technology on the Prime Video Platform.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. He also is an inventor or co-inventor on 71 US patents.
